Timetable 2017-2018
Studying for a degree, and especially a Master’s degree, takes a lot of energy, time and commitment. However, there are always opportunities to relax, enjoy yourself and engage with your fellow-students, not only between university classes but also in activities outside your study curriculum. Social Clubs are a good way to interact with others, to get to know the city and the society you are part of and .. to have fun!
The International Hellenic University has organized, together with its students, a number of Social Clubs, which are free of charge for all IHU students & alumni! All the clubs meet once a week on the IHU premises!

What our students say
"As an LLM student at the International Hellenic University, I was given the chance to attend a variety of Social Clubs.
Being a language lover, I chose the Chinese Language Social Club, which was a real challenge for me. By the end of the course, not only did I manage to acquire a degree in Chinese but I also created special bonds with students from other Master Programmes. I am also grateful for being taught by one of the most capable and supportive teachers whose guidance made me feel confident to deepen my knowledge in the Chinese Language. In my opinion, studying at the International Hellenic University is a great experience as a whole but taking part in Social Clubs is a “must” that every student should try."
Evangelia Kokkinou | LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law, Mediation, Arbitration and Energy Law, Greece
I have an amazing opportunity to be a member of the Greek language club at IHU and I enjoy it very much. The lectures (and the lecturer, too, of course) are so interesting that I haven't missed any of them so far. They are very jolly and interactive.
Tereza Ichnatoliova, MSc in ICT Systems, Slovakia
Dance it all out! The Zumba club is a great opportunity to dance exams, courseworks and presentations away at least for one hour and it is so much fun that during the lesson you will forget that you are actually working out.
Mona Schirmann, LL.M. in Transnational and European Commercial Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution, Germany
"When I decided to apply for the LLM programme, I did not really consider the social club programme as something special. A year later, I as well as my fellow classmates hold the A1 degree in Chinese Language, I acquired more friends and an amazing teacher, not to mention I can speak Chinese!!!
Roza Marinou | LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law, Mediation, Arbitration and Energy Law, Greece
I am very happy with my decision to join the Greek language club. This club has given me new, international friends from other programs at IHU. Thinking about these positive experiences, I would advise every foreign student to join the Greek language club. After all, we are studying and living in Greece, so it is nice to know the local language!
Klaartje Lecomte, MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies, Belgium
It was a very good idea to attend social clubs at IHU. I could give a break from my academic studies once a week for yoga class and refresh my mind. This kind of activities raised up my motivation for my main focus in my department.
Pelin Güngör, MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies, Turkey
‘’It is great when a university gives the possibility to its students to participate in social clubs!! It is a way to evolve your creativeness and at the same time to sociability. It is amazing to meet new people and make a project all together in order the whole university to get involved. Believe it or not it is the best and funniest way to learn and entertain yourself.’’
Leonidas Fotiadis, LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution, Greece
Being a member of pottery's social club, I have the opportunity to meet and get familiar with students from other master programs, while expanding my historical knowledge and creativity by learning an ancient art.
Katerina Toliou, MSc in Energy Systems, Greece
‘’A social club that IHU students should consider joining. Not only for acquiring an extra skill for their future careers but also to have the opportunity to be taught by our awesome teacher. Thank you for making me love Mandarin Chinese. Until next time Vera!’’
Konstantinos Kosmidis | MSc in Communications and Cybersecurity, Greece
‘’We had a wonderful Christmas event with a leading role of Social Club of International Food. We had fun and tasted different cuisine with Russian Santa Claus ("Ded Moroz").’’
Alina Bezhenar, MSc in Sustainable Development, Russia
"Social Clubs is a great combination of learning and leasure time. It is a pleasure to take part in their running events because organizators make a big effort to hold them. Good opportunity to meet your classmates closer, out of lecture time and to meet other people who study with you. I am especially happy with Language club which I find extremely useful. I`ve learned bit of basic knowledge in Greek and have a strong desire to go on. Thank you Social Clubs for the good times!’’
Anna Matoshko, MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies, Ukraine
''The participation in the various social clubs of IHU is for me, as for the majority of the students who studied at a Greek public university, a new and very exciting experience. The organisation of the programs is perfect and the instructors of each group are professionals and very qualified. Among the advantages of taking part in a social group are first of all the pleasant time spending there and the contact with new people. I strongly recommend it to you!''
Elpida Siaminou, LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution, Greece
‘’As a member of the social clubs you do "socializing" through the hobbies you like. It could be making music, handcrafting or dancing or even learning a foreign language or international cooking but first of all it's fun and communicative, easy-going and pleasant. Spending some relaxed time in the IHU during our demanding MSc studies brings the necessary psychological balance into our hearts.’’
Nikoleta Tsikoti, MSc in Strategic Product Design, Greece
‘’ My first contact with the Social Clubs was at the Christmas party. I helped a little with organizing the music of the party and I have to admit that it was a very good experience. I had the opportunity of meeting students, foreign and local, from other MSc programmes and I particularly enjoyed the international cuisine and the secret santa events.’’
Nikos Papas, MSc in Strategic Product Design, Greece
‘’The participation in IHU social clubs gives the opportunity to the students to improve their relations with their peers or to meet new people (students of other MCs program) beyond the teaching procedure. The large range of the offered activities helps students to improve their skills (such as communication) or to be members of an activity they are interested in.’’
Maria Kepaptsoglou, MSc in Management, Greece
‘’In social clubs I have the chance to meet interesting people from the university besides people involved in my programme. Apart from developing skills by participating in teams and organising events with others, I have the chance to learn everyday aspects of their lives and cultural trends that remain hidden during a lecture in the class. It's a great way to spice up your studies!’
Stella Parisi, MSc in Strategic Product Design, Greece
"I'm so excited about IHU's social clubs! Spanish and Russian language lessons, photography seminars, zumba and yoga....All these interesting activities offer me a pleasant break from studying, enhance my skills and give me the opportunity to meet students from different master programmes."
Maria Theologidou, LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution, Greece
