Dear students,

In the context of the module Special Interest Tourism a discussion - workshop entitled "Thessaloniki Walking Tours: The challenge of organizing thematic guided tours for locals and tourists" will be held on Tuesday, 11 December 2018 at 19.30-21.30 (Lecture Room B3) . The invited speakers, Evi Karkiti and Tassos Papadopoulos from Thessaloniki Walking Tours, will present their experience and discuss the specific details of organizing guided tours in Thessaloniki. The workshop will be moderated by the course instructor, Nicholas Karachalis.

These are brief presentations from business executives in the context of the MSc in Hospitality & Tourism Management classes.
The presentations are offered primarily to the above students but other students with a keen interest in relevant matters are also welcome.

During the next event, Ms Lenia Papadopoulou will speak about “Negotiations in the Tourism Industry: the case of the relationship between hotels and tour operators”.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday , 11 December 2018, 18:00-19:15, Lecture Room B4.

We are glad to inform you that we are organizing an event in the series of “Exclusive Seminars” for our students.


These are brief presentations from business executives in the context of the MSc Banking and Finance and MSc in International Accounting, Auditing and Financial Management classes.
The presentations are offered primarily to the above students but other students with a keen interest in Banking and Finance or International Accounting and Auditing matters are also welcome.

During the next event, Mr George Pahinis will speak about “Risk Management in the context of modern Banking: Views from a practitioner” .

The presentation will take place on Thursday 29 November 2018 , 20:30-21:30, Lecture Room B1.

Short bio of the speaker

Mr. Pahinis is a risk professional with over 30 years of experience in various aspects of risk identification, management, and mitigation. Currently, he is the Director of Risk Management at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, a position he has held since the Bank’s inception in 1999, and which provided him with the unique experience of having to set up from scratch the risk management framework for a multilateral development bank. Previously, Mr. Pahinis worked as a Senior Political Risk Analyst for the Government of Canada’s export credit agency, EDC, and as a commissioned officer within the Canadian Armed Forces. He holds a BA from Concordia University (Canada) and an MSc (Distinction) from Sheffield University (UK).

This presentation is part of the lecture for the course “Foundations of Finance”.
