We are glad to inform you that we are organizing an event in the series of “Exclusive Seminars” for our students.
These are brief presentations from business executives in the context of the MSc Banking and Finance and MSc in International Accounting, Auditing and Financial Management classes.
The presentations are offered primarily to the above students but other students with a keen interest in Banking and Finance or International Accounting and Auditing matters are also welcome.
During the next event, Mr George Pahinis will speak about “Risk Management in the context of modern Banking: Views from a practitioner” .
The presentation will take place on Thursday 29 November 2018 , 20:30-21:30, Lecture Room B1.
Short bio of the speaker
Mr. Pahinis is a risk professional with over 30 years of experience in various aspects of risk identification, management, and mitigation. Currently, he is the Director of Risk Management at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, a position he has held since the Bank’s inception in 1999, and which provided him with the unique experience of having to set up from scratch the risk management framework for a multilateral development bank. Previously, Mr. Pahinis worked as a Senior Political Risk Analyst for the Government of Canada’s export credit agency, EDC, and as a commissioned officer within the Canadian Armed Forces. He holds a BA from Concordia University (Canada) and an MSc (Distinction) from Sheffield University (UK).
