Cybersecurity vs Cybercrime: the Ongoing Battle
Thursday May 17 2018, 17:30-20:00
Scope: The need for cybersecurity worldwide has increased significantly in the past few years. Recent cyber breaches at major corporations highlight an increasing sophistication, stealth and persistence intelligence of cyber-attacks that organizations are facing from organized crime, hobby hacktivists, as well as threats from within the organization (which often pose the greatest risk).
Forum regards cybersecurity threats as one of the greater global risks for today’s organizations. This has led to a day by day fierce “cyberwar”, as persistent and more sophisticated attackers try to circumvent the employed security mechanisms while dedicated professionals are constantly on alert to detect and thwart such attacks.
For this event, we have asked an exceptional selection of invited speakers from academia, forensic consultants and law-enforcement agencies to provide their expertise on the multi-challenging problem of cybersecurity. Targeting an audience of university students/graduates as well as other members of the ICT and security industry, our goal is to come closer the cybersecurity threat and point out challenges and opportunities that the cybersecurity professional would face in the next years.
Attendance is free to students, young ICT professionals, the general public and all those who wish to become familiar with cybersecurity and information security in general. Prior free registration is required.
