From Thessaloniki
By Car: Take the National Highway from Thessaloniki to Moudania (Halkidiki) you get off on the Thermi exit then go straight over the junction -and follow the road- after approximately 100 meters, IHU will be on your left (View the map).
By Bus: Take bus no.67 (Triadi) or no.87 (Vassilika) from IKEA and get off at the Thermi Health Centre bus-stop. Follow the road to the right at the traffic light. The university lies on your left.
From Tirana, Albania:
By Bus: Departure every evening at 20:30 in collaboration with
ALBA TRANS TIRANA (Thessaloniki, Korce, Pogradec, Prrenjas, Librazhd, Elbasan, Tirana, Lac, Lezhe, Shkodra). Buses depart from MACEDONIA bus station, 194 Giannitson st., Thessaloniki, GREECE.
For buying tickets to go to Albania, you may buy them from the bus agency "Stavrou - Langada", in address, 17, Irenes st., Vardaris area in the centre of Thessaloniki.

From Sofia, Bulgaria:
By Train: Direct rail connection between Sofia and Thessaloniki with high standard modern carriages. Daily departures from Sofia leaving at 07:00 and 17:30 and from Thessaloniki are at 06:16 and 17:47.
Overall trip duration between the two cities is 5 hours and 58min.

By Train: A direct rail connection between Thessaloniki and Istanbul has been launched with a train named "FRIENDSHIP - DOSTLUK EXPRESS" that consists of air conditioned, high standard couchettes.
Daily departures from Thessaloniki are at 20:35 and from Istanbul at 20:00 arriving next morning to Istanbul/Thessaloniki accordingly.
Overall duration of the trip between the two cities is approximately 11 hours and 30 minutes.
Indicatively, prices for Thessaloniki-Istanbul route are as follows:
- For a 2nd class bed in a two-bed couchette costs
(ticket included) €48,20
- For a 1st class bed in a single-bed couchette costs
(ticket included) €84,90

By Bus: Several Turkish bus companies run big, comfortable buses between Istanbul's Main Bus Terminal stopping at Xanthi, Komotini, Thessaloniki. There is at least one bus per day. It's about a 12-hour ride between Istanbul and Thessaloniki, with a stop at Alexandroupolis along the way.The one-way fare (single) between Istanbul and Thessaloniki costs approximately €40. Round-trip (return) fare has a discount about 12%.
The company ULUSOY (Istanbul's Main Bus Terminal Office No. 127-128) runs buses from Istanbul.
The company "Ktel Thessalonikis SA" has two daily routes from Thessaloniki to Istanbul between 10:00 and 22:00 hours in collaboration with METRO TURIZM ISTANBUL. Departure place at Irenes street 17, Vardaris area in the centre of Thessaloniki. Duration of the trip is 10 hours. Indicative ticket prices for one-way-ticket cost €35 for adults and €28 for students.
By Air: There are no direct flights from Istanbul to Thessaloniki but there are flights available via Athens and other European capitals and take at least 6-8 hours.
From Istanbul you may take the following flights via the following destinations for Thessaloniki:
