By Car: Take the National Highway from Thessaloniki to Moudania (Halkidiki) and turn off at the Thermi & Polygyro exit. At the traffic light, cross straight over the junction and follow the road. IHU is the first building on your left. (View the map).
By Bus: Take the No.67 bus (Triadi) or the No.87 (Vassilika) from IKEA and get off at the Thermi Health Centre bus-stop. Follow the road to the right at the traffic light. The university lies on your left.
IKEA-Triadi bus route
Bus no. 67B of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organisation now includes the university on its scheduled route between IKEA and Triadi. The approximate times of bus departures for the University are given here by the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organisation.
A turning area just outside the university has been prepared to allow the buses to serve passengers safely. For all other bus times, the nearest bus stop is by the Thermi Health Centre, as usual.
The bus times have been scheduled to match class times but also to provide a service for morning and weekend access. The bus schedule has been posted in the university coffee shop and the reception.
Please note that during vacation periods a different bus schedule applies.
From Tirana, Albania:
By Bus: Departure every evening at 20:30 in collaboration with ALBA TRANS TIRANA (Thessaloniki, Korce, Pogradec, Prrenjas, Librazhd, Elbasan, Tirana, Lac, Lezhe, Shkodra). Buses depart from MACEDONIA bus station, 194 Giannitson St., Thessaloniki, GREECE.
Tickets to Albania can be bought from the "Stavrou - Langada" bus agency, 17 Irenes St., Vardaris, in the centre of Thessaloniki.

The journey takes just under 6 hours. 1st and 2nd class tickets are available at good prices with deductions and special offers for students and small groups (2-5 persons).

Daily departures from Thessaloniki at 20:35 and from Istanbul at 20:00 arrive the next morning at Istanbul/Thessaloniki accordingly. The journey takes approximately 11 hours and 30 minutes.
Indicatively, prices for Thessaloniki-Istanbul route are as follows:
- 2nd class with bed in a two-bed couchette 48,20euros
- 1st class with bed in a single-bed couchette 84,90euros
By Bus: Several bus companies (see below) run large, comfortable buses between Istanbul's Main Bus Terminal and Thessaloniki, with at least one leaving every day. The journey takes 10-12 hours, usually stopping for a break at Alexandroupoli.
