ICT Emerging Trends and Entrepreneurship

On Wednesday, 6 March 2013, students and professionals from the ICT sector together with other members of the audience had the opportunity to attend an event on "ICT Emerging Trends & Entrepreneurship", organized by the International Hellenic University School of Science & Technology.

The event was received very well by the audience, which filled the University’s main auditorium. The Dean of the School of Science & Technology, Professor I. Vlahavas commenced by talking about the International Hellenic University and the various ways that the School of Science & Technology supports entrepreneurship through its lectures and other activities. Prof. Vlahavas was followed by Professor V. Makios, General Director of Corallia, Innovation & Entrepreneurship catalyst, who discussed in detail Corallia and how it can assist students and young entrepreneurs with starting up. Mr P. Soukoulias, President of the Scientific/Advisory Board at Prisma Electronics then took the floor to discuss tech companies in Greece and offer his experience in starting up ICT enterprises. Mr K. Papadimitriou from Interworks Cloud Services concluded the first round of presentations with an inspiring talk on the cloud in which he offered advice and experience to ICT entrepreneurs based on his work at Interworks. The second part of the event involved the launching of the Ennovation student digital entrepreneurship competition. Ennovation is an international, student digital entrepreneurship competition jointly organised by the International Hellenic University, ELTRUN (Athens University of Economics & Business) and the University of Nicosia. Professor A. Pramatari from AUEB and Mr G. Gatos provided the audience with information about the competition. The event finished with an inspiring presentation by Mr D.
