Athens Press Conference Coverage

Over the next few years, the International Hellenic University will become the first university in Greece to be largely self-funded, as it will be in a position to cover a very significant part of its operating cost through the tuition fees. This will be achieved with the introduction of a new model of financial planning and development.

This statement was made yesterday by the President of the University Professor Costas Grammenos during a press conference in Athens presenting the plan for the evolution of the International Hellenic University.

The New Executive MBA 2013 Class

The International Hellenic University welcomed its sixth intake of new students on the Executive MBA programme on Friday 25 January 2013. The student body comprises business executives, professional people from banks and other organizations, engineers, lawyers and self-employed professionals.

Participants in this year's Executive MBA programme come from seven countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Romania and Serbia) with one third of them being international students. The average age of this year’s class is 35.5 years with an average professional experience of more than ten years. These figures correspond to world standards of an Executive MBA programme.

The new students were welcomed by the Deputy Chairman of the Governing Board of the IHU, Professor Nicolas Moussiopoulos. The academic and administrative staff of the School introduced them to the procedures of the University and then the students enjoyed the first of the “Professional Development Seminar” series, specifically on team building.

The duration of the studies is two years and the lessons follow a very flexible programme with classes taking place over 16 weekends, Friday to Sunday. The team of professors teaching on the EMBA is comprised of internationally renowned figures from leading Universities in the UK, the USA, Greece and other European countries.

The next intake of new students for the Executive MBA will be in January 2014. Information is available on the university website www.econ.ihu.edu.gr or by calling on +30 2310807528.
