"Standards, Sustainability and Business Benefit" event on Tuesday, 29 May 2012, at 17:30 print email
Wednesday, 23 May 2012 10:30

International Hellenic University Auditorium

The global recession has had many impacts, one of which was that sustainability is no longer among the top priorities in many businesses and organisations, especially in Greece. However, a growing body of evidence suggests that companies with sound sustainability programmes are likely to be better managed and able to deliver stronger financial performance. In fact there is evidence demonstrating that sustainability could be seen as an antidote to the downturn.

Leading businesses and organisations globally are using "green" activities as a vehicle for economic recovery. Standards, by their very nature, embed systematic processes which lead to the measurement and then the reduction of the amount of materials and energy consumed and the amount of waste generated, all of which ultimately reduce cost.

Acknowledging the needs of professionals for additional knowledge and further awareness in the fields of Standards, Sustainability and the way these could result in a Business Benefit, the International Hellenic University is organising an event where leading experts from Greece and abroad will share valuable knowledge and know-how. Keynote speaker will be the Business Services Manager from BSi (British Standards Institution), followed by a round table with a fertile interaction between leading experts

Attendance is free but prior registration is required. You can register here.
