"Creativity, Innovation and Sustainability" Lecture by Professor Dr Franz Josef Radermacher at the International Hellenic University With unabated interest, a large audience attended the lecture of professor of artificial intelligence Franz Josef Radermacher on Monday, 5 March, in the main auditorium of the International Hellenic University. The subject of the lecture was "Creativity, Innovation and Sustainability". Professor Dr. Franz Josef Radermacher was welcomed by Professor N. Moussiopoulos, Vice President of the Governing Board of the IHU, who referred to the structure and high standards set by the University. He also briefly outlined the University’s postgraduate programmes and the countries of origin of the students attending the IHU. A presentation of the new postgraduate MSc in Sustainable Development was then given by Eftychios Sartzetakis, Assistant Professor (University of Macedonia) and member of the Special Account Management Committee of the International University. Dr Franz Josef Radermacher began his lecture by referring to experience in the field of artificial intelligence and the interaction between machines, humans, animals, consciousness, emotions and creativity. "We're trying to build machines that think, are conscious. We know that machines do not have feelings like people but we can create machines that behave like they have feelings," he said, drawing a dividing line between creativity and innovation, "Creativity is the new idea, innovation is the implementation of this new concept in practice and the promotion of the market.
