Rony Alfandary, PhD, graduated from Nottingham University as a clinical social worker (MA, CCTSW) in 1992 and specialized in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy at Bar-Ilan University, Israel in 1997. As well as working as an independent psychotherapist and a university lecturer in the field of clinical social work, Rony writes and publishes prose and poetry with a particular emphasis on the relation between language, creativity and the sense of self and belonging. Currently living in Israel, his family roots stretch back to Thessaloniki in Greece and Lom in Bulgaria, roots severed by the Nazi occupation of Europe.
